We are Mari and Marc, founders of the company Bellezón, S.L., the result of the combination of an analytical and persevering mind (industrial engineer) and an empathetic and communicative mind (interpreter translator) focused on developing an innovative technology for the skin. This technology allows to adhere any type of elements to the skin, without glue, so that people can feel as good as possible in their skin, with the final aim of expressing their essence.
We have to confess that getting to this point was a combination of circumstances. We were distributing our B-Diamond "Skin Jewels", when we were told about the problem women experience after a mastectomy and a breast reconstruction. Once the implant has been introduced, the patient has to wait minimum 1 year – but it could extend to 2, 3, 4 years, or even more- for the skin to recover. Only when the skin is recovered, the reconstruction of the NAC (Nipple Areola Complex and/or the micropigmentation could be carried out and the whole breast reconstruction could be accomplish. This period of time is emotionally really hard, because when looking at the mirror without the Nipple Areola Complex (NAC) it makes them feel mutilated. We had a well-defined roadmap, but life wanted to guide us down through a different path. And then, it just happened; we met an amazing woman, who had the BRCA-2 gene and undergone a complete bilateral mastectomy as a preventive measure – she definitely made us change our priorities for good..
SERENDIPITY!
As time passed and we were able to learn more about breast cancer, its stages, the hard process it could mean and how it affects women to undergo a mastectomy, our eagerness to contribute our grain of sand grew immeasurably.
Currently, being able to improve life quality of people going through this, has become our biggest priority. We want to help them regain their wellbeing, a sense of normalcy and get back to feel again themselves, as soon as possible.
